I remember watching MW on the internet as Steve introduced the iMac and said, "It looks like it came from outer space (or another world)", don't remember which. I'd love to see that video again.

Thanks for the info! Now see the following stupid (at least to me) article on the subject. Why didn't the author call and get info before writing about it? (Answer: Beats me!) http://zdnet.com.com/2100-1107_2-5295239.html

Slightly off topic but can someone explain why there's a "gingerbread man" on my emails when using Apple Mail? Sorry if this was answered before.

I hope one doesn't hear "water running" all the time. Some of us get the urge to pee when this happens!

Phil S. will probably handle the keynote chores - he has experience in these matters, with an assist via satellite hookup from SJ. I wouldn't be surprised if SJ introduces the new iMac from California before it is wheeled on to the stage.

"Most people"... one of the most often used phrase that has absolutely no basis in fact. A cliché that would require interviewing or getting opinions of the entire population on the planet or at least a high percentage to agree on something.

HP is not licensing iPod technology. They are buying the player from Apple in a custom (steel blue) color. No need for Apple to license the wheel technology at this time. The company could use it for a universal remote at some future date... howe…

Interesting. But the optical drive door at the bottom front of the mock-up does seem to get in the way of the exhaust "tube". Reports are that the computer looks "real simple" so this does fall into that category. I think it's now time for AI to p…

I believe that Rio actually announced a 4 GB drive player just before Apple was to announce the mini (or was it someone else). That product never made it to market, perhaps because at the time only Hitachi had the 1" drives and Apple seems to have …

Pre-production runs of the iMac G5's are reportedly being assembled by Quanta in Taiwan so they can be checked by Apple personnel on scene. No ramp up is expected until later in the month, just before Paris Expo. Chiat-Day has probably already fin…

Yes formatting takes up space. Check any hard drive and you'll find actual gb to be slightly less.... your computer is a good example.

I serously doubt there is any wireless connectivity. There is even a phony ad floating around - phony because it uses an image nearly a year old. PortalPlayer did announce some new features for their OS/hardware in January and perhaps, or should I…

Cnet is reporting that the new iMac will look nothing like the current one and will a brushed aluminum finish ala PowerMac possibly similar to what lucida posted above - that's a very barebones illustration people, remember that).. No proof is offe…

I have no songs currently on my iPod from iTMS. All come from my CD collection. I reside in the U.S. What does iTMS have to do with the REAL situation? This is all about allowing REAL's downloaded songs from Rhapsody (via Harmony software) bein…

Gene Steinberg points out this morning in The Mac Night Owl that Harmony is only compatible with PC's. It doesn't work with Macs. Here's article: http://macnightowl.com/index.htm Interesting that nobody in the media or here has picked this…

This can turn into a real (pun intended) public relations fiasco for Apple. Constantly revising the iTunes software to disable songs people have downloaded from Rhapsody to play on their iPods could bring class action suits. Glaser, to my thinking…
