I'd say they will come out with a PCI-Express video card like the ATI Mobility Radeon X700 (with 128 MB VRAM). If they are creating a whole new motherboard architecture it would only make sense to ditch AGP and go with the newer technology.

I'm not too concerned about the 25% reduction in size, as cool as it may be. What would really sell me on a new 15" powerbook would be if it were also 25% lighter. I don't know if Apple could pull this off, but imagine a 15" notebook that weighs a m…

Of course, Apple could have just done the absolute minimum update for the powerbooks to convince people the Intel switch is going to take a long time and therefore continue to enjoy good laptop sales over the Christmas season. Then, before you k…

I think the Powerbooks would have to go Intel before the iBooks. Who would want to buy a G4 Powerbook when the Pentium-M iBook easily outperforms it? Apple wants to keep selling its laptops. So, either both ranges go Intel at once, or first the P…

The no-show hardware revision may be a very good sign. It could mean Apple is ahead of schedule for the Intel-switch and will release some amazing new Intel-Powerbooks in Jan. Apple has no reason to release a Powerbook revision, if the entire lin…

The Sony Walkman phone (W800i) and Motorola iPhone E1 ROKR both do exactly what you are describing. They use removeable flash memory card to store the songs. The ROKR however makes it really difficult to get at the flash-memory card (it's under …

Dare I say: Tablet!

I won't believe it until I see it. (Apple seem to be very good at secrecy these days)

What took IBM so long? They should have released these chips (especially the low power G5) a year ago. That would have been just right. As it is: Too little, too late, too bad. Hey, I wonder if Freescale's new 90n G4 outperforms the mobile-G5…

I would (and, in fact, am very soon) getting a 12" PB with Dell 2005FPW (same display as ACD, but much cheaper, though, of course, less stylish). 64MB of VRAM is enough to drive the display. I'd only worry about performance if you plan to run in…
