How much do you think the core solo chip costs Apple? And as far as i'm aware, was there ever a 1.5ghz solo chip? I thought it was 1.66? And you are correct about the MacBook..... you are, effectively, getting a monitor, a mouse (trackpad), use…

Im hoping for a price drop/change in specs too. The core solo Mini is a pretty bad deal I think.

I'd like to see Mac Mini speed bumps, particularly to the low end one.. the single core chip looks pretty poor now. And hopefully, maybe an update to the iMac too.

Celebrities get far too much free stuff.

This is the same guy that said the MacBook would not appear until June/July......... why don't they just give it up, clearly they don't know what they're talking about.

It's mid 2006 - a $1000 laptop should not have a combo drive !!! I would be VERY surprised if the price stayed the same as the iBook, so I would be even more disappointed to see a $1100/$1200 with a combo drive !!

The Superdrive should be standard on ALL Apple computers - it's nearly mid 2006 !!!!! $1000 for a computer with a combo drive is terrible.

Things have got pretty boring on the rumour sites lately ... maybe Apple plugged the leaks.

The rumours have dried up lately too.....a few months ago they were preditcting a special 30th Birthday event with new iBooks maybe iPods... looks like they got it totally wrong.. just like MWSF.

Well......looks increasingly like there are no special events planned. I supopse we'll go to the Apple Store one Tuesday or Wednesday and it will be offline for updates.

Just a thought, but I wonder if a delay in the new iBooks (MacBook) would likely mean more people opting for the more expensive MacBook Pros. Also according to reports here on Appleinsider, productin of the Intel Mini has been scaled back a little …

Well the latest Applesinsider article on widescreen iPods is saying June...... maybe there will be no event afterall.

Isn't an Apple computer that gets shipped to someone in Europe made in the same place as one that gets shipped to the US?
