OK, I have a stupid question: If I change the email address that's my username, will Apple send emails to that new email, or to my existing email address. What I'm thinking is that if I change my email to a secondary email address, especially one no…

With the new version of iPadOS, can I spellcheck using *only* the keyboard like I can on first-party macOS apps (and those that enable a context menu shortcut)? Because if I can't, then it's not a computer.

Apple does seem to rather assume that touch-typing is a thing of the past. I can assure you this is not true for many people, including myself. My external keyboard has blank keycaps.

I like the idea/concept but I'm skeptical they can implement it properly. Reaching away from the keyboard for a trackpad or mouse is a productivity killer, and many times keyboard shortcuts are impractical.

Apple still gets a lot of these consumer-level details right. As much as the OS very often lacks the pro features that Linux has, features like these are welcome for less technical users struggling to recover disk space. Having said that, if SSDs d…

The fact is Windows isn't the train wreck it used to be, and is closing the gap with macOS (in many ways deficient but still good enough for all intents and purposes). Linux distros are getting better and more polished. On the other hand, macOS ha…

Surely, if any customers were listening to these grave depictions of Apple's butterfly keyboards being terrible to the point of dysfunctional, From my point of view, the problem with the 2016-2019 MacBook Pro keyboard is not that it's defective…

I'm not American. Still, I'm becoming increasingly frustrated by what I see as an egregious anti-American bias by various governments in the EU nowadays. People who claim that Apple somehow has a "monopoly" are using specious logic. Apple competes…

DED and many other Apple pundits have blinders on when dismissing just how much of a debacle the various iterations of butterfly switch keyboard have been. Just to be clear, aside from a few initial instances of errand keypresses (ex: asssess inste…

For me the physical ESC key isn't that important as I remapped it to caps lock years ago. What I would like is physical function keys. Good on them for fixing the arrow keys. The fat left and right keys are a nightmare for touch typists. I'll res…

Good riddance to Flash! I remember reading a Daring Fireball post about 10 years ago where Gruber announced he had uninstalled Flash from his Mac and urged others to do the same. He argued convincingly that Chrome came with Flash as part of an emb…
