Its not just a problem of processor but also RAM. The iPad 1 had the same processor as the iPhone 4 but could not run iOS 7. We will just have to wait and see.

They are not capacitive buttons, they are mechanical but can tell if they were pressed with a finger or the inside of your pocket.

This also implies that all the old phones are no longer being used, seeing as most phones are either sold on or handed down that is probably not the case. The only real possibility for an increase is that they are selling a 'boatload' of new phones.
