So this idiot from a bank that nobody has ever heard of is a billionaire because his past predictions have been so successful right?

Call me stupid but these vans look like the van the vans that Google used for mapping. What's all the hysteria about Apple improving it's mapping technology?

Excellent article again DED & HD @Asymco are the only original thinkers writing tech at the moment.

My interesting numbers for the quarter are 21m v 1m i.e. 21 million iPads sold, which equal a failure for Apple versus 1 million Surface sold which is a "success" for Microsoft!!

Would you please produce some attribution for your performance claims, Anandtech or anybody else don't seem to support your claims... http://www.anandtech.com/show/8666/the-apple-ipad-air-2-review/3 http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/11/11/nexus-9-vs…

I think you will find that Apple asked Intel to Quote on the iPhone/iPad business but that Intel declined, thought they wouldn't make any money on it :- http://www.dailytech.com/Former+Intel+CEO+Regrets+Passing+Up+on+iPhone+Gravy+Train/article31574.…

Appreciate your post. I think it is useful for us "old timers" to give some of the youngsters "context". However, whilst I agree with your corporate historical replay, this was not a "UK" thing. This was a global commercial thing that enabled MSF to…

This guy is great. A breath of fresh air. His interview is required watching in how NOT to be a stuffed suite. But the interesting take-away from this is how Apple media "disasters" seem to translate into mega sales. Anyone with a mediocum of intell…

I'm surprised that IDC, Gartner and Strategy Analytics are permitted by the SEC to produce fictional stats which obviously impact share prices, isn't that illegal?

Samsung bought Knox by the way.

Another excellent article. Keep up the good work.

Jack would make an excellent addition to the Apple e team.

Could it be that the reason for the dire state of journalistic enterprise these days is because journalists tech & business do not understand the connection between output and profit? I.E they seem to confuse the two and deem quantity = success …

These figures purport to give a level of accuracy which they clearly are not capable of. Any high school student would ask, where in the table or footnotes is the margin of error noted?
-
Bearing in mind the effect that these so-called research firms have on various tech co's share price i'm surprised that the SEC hasn't investigated them yet, or are they still asleep on their watch?

Excellent analysis once again.

Excellent article, you could add the Amazon ponzi scheme under the heading of tech writing denialism.
