Seeing as how performance is expected to improve substantially over the next two months and Mac ports usually don't match Windows couterpart in performance... says current performance is poor. Graphic detail doesn't look good at all.

Well, I've been using iTunes on both OS X and XP and have never seen that issue... it's really wierd. Did you install anything else that's related to iTunes?

May sound stupid, but are you clicking the downloaded iTunes.exe or the installed itunes shortcut? After you install it, do this: Browse to: "C\Program Files\\iTunes" and DoubleClick "iTunes.exe". See what happens.
