  • I thought the entire premise of the article was ludicrous. I'm going to write an article explaining how you could easily, with the right trench coat (I recommend a particular brand: Macintosh), go to your local supermarket and steal lots of steak…
  • That Rhapsody screen shot really makes me wish Apple had stuck with the Classic UI for OS X. Aqua's pretty and all, but OS X should have tried to mimic Classic's UI as closely as possible before going off into new territory. Once the interface was c…

  • [quote]Originally posted by seb: So, what does this really mean? Probably not a damn thing. It means, when you upgrade to a new computer, you aren't forced to buy a second Windows license for it. Just because you aren't going to install Linux…
  • Could it be that they know somebody who can get an educational discount? That person buys it for them (with the discount) and they sell it marked-up a little bit (but still below non-educational prices). Back in my university days, I knew a few s…

  • [quote]Originally posted by murbot: Ikea? Where do you think I got this from? I was gonna say Home Depot. Don't you think a new computer demands a new desk? Keep the lamp though, that's good. I also notice you're missing the huge mess a…
  • Sweet. I like the display most of all. My crappy-ass monitor (free!) sucks. murbot, you need to grab a handful of cash from the giant pile you have sitting in the middle of your living room and get a nicer table. Heck, maybe even some sort of com…

  • *sniff* I never *sniff* really new him, but I sure am sad to see him *sniff* go. *SNIFF* A toast to Applenut! His candle burned out long ago, but his legend never did. Hm? What's that? What do you mean, "he's not dead"? But... I... well... oh.…

  • I once spoke with Steve Jobs. Well, to be honest, he gave a speach at my University and at the end there was a question and answer session. I asked him a question and he answered it. Still... technically, we did speak to each other. So, anyway, b…
  • It's more than the number of pre-orders for the original iMac. As we all (should) know, the original iMac did very well. And, just to really cap it off: the pre-order period for the original iMac was three months not three weeks.
  • [quote]Originally posted by applenut: do they work? I'll take them off your hands if they work Are you gonna make a LAF?
  • You could make a bigger clock . Put the hour on one Mac, the minutes on another and am/pm on the third. Or... make a bigger aquarium. Connect-up three of the Macs with see-through, acrylic tubes. They'd be networked! A LAF (Local Area Fishwork).
