There is alot of truth in this article. I am the niche pro, inside the niche, inside the niche...I am self employed, using my Mac Pro from home to trade stocks. Been doing it for going on 15 years now, I have always had Mac "pro" machines starting w…

Well...then I guess beer companies need to add special locking caps that automatically close when you are in a car. Budweiser is putting profits above public safety.

Here's a novel idea...how about staying off the phone while driving! Siri doesn't distract me at all when she is safely tucked away in my glovebox or coat pocket...

So you gov't hacks can't easily break in on us private citizens. That just makes me want to buy one even more. Just another example of the effect being the opposite of the one intended.

Exactly. People want a giant phone, and then want a phone they can carry in their pocket. I have never wanted a giant phone, and truth be told, I have always thought that all iPhones were too big to carry in your pocket, which is why I use a belt …

RadarTheKat "He's, the least interesting man in the world." That's funny! ROFL!

Problem solved. Kudo's to the Apple Engineering staff for their assistance. Turns out the issue was with legacy preference files in my Library and Internet Plugins folder which were not automatically deleted (for some reason) during the upgrade proc…

Well, I guess la-la land wasn't a very technical description. Safari doesn't "hang" in the sense that you have to force quit it. I can close it out regular. But the page goes blank and gives the spinning wheel. If you use any safari preference (re…

OK. I spoke too soon. Still doing the same thing, just less often. Some subsequent links send it into la-la land...as well as any preference adjustments (like reset safari, private browsing, etc). Guess I'll just have to live with it until they pa…

Can't really confirm. It didn't work just by reinstalling Mavericks. It took reinstalling all of them. I did spend time on the phone with Apple support, and they did confirm there were a few known issues that they are working on, so I would say ever…

Think it's finally working properly. Required a complete reinstall of Mavericks, java and flash.

They got my hopes up higher than they probably should have been by starting off the keynote with all the FREE stuff and then the price cuts on the MacBooks. I am a little disappointed at the price point. I was hoping for the same price points as the…

I'm not really sold on the whole watch idea anyway. As has been said by this fine collection of folks, the implementation is what matters. I don't wear a watch now as it is. I work in front of my Mac all day. In the car or out and about I have my iP…

I would suppose that a refresh is most likely with the Mac Pro. It's a radical change in design, and I would think it's possible they refresh the acc. with its release. Seems like the best time anyway.

Thanks guys...more confirmation gives me peace of mind. As an update, the unthinkable happened...my Mac Pro died. Alas, I sadly had to go buy a current model, as I was dead in the water. But this is another reason I LOVE APPLE! I went …

Interesting follow-up. Spoke with a tech at a local Apple Reseller. He said it was his understanding that the Mac Pro that would push (3) 4K displays will drive (6) 1080 displays. Now that will work for me! Can't wait for confirmation.

I am a pro, just not an audio/video type...I run a stock trading firm. We currently run Mac Pro's with 6 monitors attached to each. My biggest concern for the new Pros (of which I have been waiting a long time for replacing our current stock) is t…
