Since I use my phone for my shopping list, it's not comforting that the store is a significant location. And I can think of several metro stations that might be on my list. Probably COSTCO too. The bottom line seems to be: Everybody needs to be as …

OK, I found it, but it's under System Services. And it looks like clearing history will remove everything, including my home location, not just an individual location. Once again, totally unnecessarily arcane. The more I look at this feature, the …

It's no longer referred to as Keychain on iOS. It's iCloud Passwords, which is located later down the Settings list below "Wallet and Apple Pay." There is a setting in Screen Time that lets you shut off access to altering Apple ID settings, which in…

Dozens of labels other than D.G.G., thank-you. For decades to be precise. D.G.G. has some good stuff in their catalogue, but is by no means the best for all compositions. If one wants to appreciate, for example, the richness of Beethoven's symphonie…

As StephaneB points out, at least Apple Music Classical doesn't continuously try to "seduce" me into becoming a fan of Gangsta Rap or hideous Auto Tuner distorted vocal recordings by slipping them surreptitiously into my "New Music Mix" playlist.

On further use, I note that one aspect of playlists has improved a little. The actual piece or movement being streamed is more or less properly identified. It use to be that the descriptor, for example: "Double Concerto for Violin and Cello: lii. Al…

Quick first impressions: 1) This app retains the utterly ignorant-of-classical-music method of assembling playlists that was so infuriating with Apple Music. One is presented with the third movement of this followed by the first movement of that, a…

I am glad someone has had a good result. My Software Update has for about 45 minutes been showing "12.18 GB of 12.18 GB" as being downloaded but nothing is happening. The progress bar shows about 85% complete. It looks frozen and/or stalled. No po…

The download seems to be working again and it isn't erratic as previously. Has anyone actually been able to install and use it? That could be the next mess.

For what it's worth, trying the download in Safe Mode is no different. I know that's not particularly helpful, but it might save some people the bother of trying it.

"Major new features in macOS Big Sur" Many of us have discovered one of them: It's unavailable.

Perhaps the "new" MacMini they were using as the only server to provide updates to the entire world blew a fuse? Big fail for them, but I am sure they will sort it out in time for New Year celebrations in 2022!

It is looking as if Apple has pulled the download off and it is no longer available. I had several failed downloads in the past few hours, now clicking on "Get" or "Download" whether initiated from Software Update or the App Store results in an inst…
