just read this article over @ maccentral. http://www.macworld.com/news/2005/06...iumm/index.php they state they have a source saying apple will use the pentium m chip in 2006 and beyond... whats everyones thoughts on this particular chip?

the dictionary features are great too! i can see getting a lot of use out of it. the ability to get a definition of a word without leaving the app your in, and with a simple keyboard shortcut. pretty sweet.

what about the under the hood stuff, mister windows programmer? core image, core data, core video, core audio (was in panther). i would think that stuff would get your rocks off! h.264, quartz composer, xcode 2, GCC 4...voice over, better syste…

oh yeah, i forgot that vuescan had recently added OCR. i absolutely love vuescan, a must have for anyone using a scanner, especially for photo manipulation/printing. best scanner software available IMO.

ok, finally got it (with some help from apple discussions board). i had moved the dictionary app into a new folder inside the main apps folder. apparently tiger couldnt find it inside that folder. moving it back to the main apps folder solved the…

dont they make omni page pro for the mac? i think so. and it works pretty well. also, depending on your scanner, i know that epson has put OCR into their scan drives for the 1670. hope that helps.

should i even be able to tell a difference? i know that i've turned it on using the debug tool, but to my eyes, i dont see a difference. what exactly should i be looking for?

by selectable text do you mean links? or just any text that can be highlighted, copied, pasted? either way, i still cant get it to work. i'm holding the keys down for over 30 seconds (which i would hope to god would be longer enough).

i cant seem to get the ctrl+cmnd+d definition thing to work? i'm on a PB 1.33, is it not possible for me? seems like it wouldnt be a big deal. do you have to turn that on somewhere?

yeah thanks, i know about versiontracker. i was just looking for some suggestions on what people use. i could spend all day on VT, was just hoping to get some good ideas of things to check out.

anyone else notice that system profiler is much much more robust now? it gives you way more info on your system than it did before: audio, firewall, fiber channel, diagnostics, etc. pretty damn handy if you ask me.

i would suggest taking a look @ iBank from IGG Software. very intuitive, and has some nice charting & report tools. can also do stocks.
