Biggest daily use shortcoming of the SE relative to the 8 or X is the much less bright screen. If that gets a significant upgrade, count me in. Much prefer the size and form factor to the generic bar-of-soap 'newer' models.

Precisely. The headline seems very misleading. Noone's talking about 'a sea of red ink' – just a downturn in revenues (and presumably profits).
