I doubt they will ever support raw, but I am hoping they will support Adobe's new dng format sometime soon.

According to Consumer Reports, Canon has the worst repair record for camcorders. I have had some problems with Canons myself, so this time I went with the Sony HC40.

I hate to suggest scanner software that is as expensive as your scanner but VueScan definitely earned its license fee in reduced headaches. Works with just about any scanner.
