I agree that .Mac would be better than home-on-ipod if .Mac had a 40Gb capacity. The problem is that the storage capacity is a couple orders of magnitude off. That isn't going to change any time soon.

Do you have write permission to put stuff in /Junk ? Try rrabu's code without changing the path. My guess is that OS X is doing something funny because it doesn't like you writing outside your home directory.
