It will be interesting to see what Apple has done with regards to share buybacks during this quarter, and what they plan to do with buybacks and dividends next quarter. On one hand there is uncertainty, but on the other hand the share price has fal…

What I found most interesting was the $20B spent on share buybacks at a time where the share price had risen dramatically. It shows they have confidence in themselves, and it should place a floor below the share price. Let's see what they do with …

I agree, Retrogusto, it should be interesting, especially since they bought back so few shares in the previous quarter, one would assume if they had more confidence in themselves they would be buying back after the massive drop in the stock price si…

I agree, one can charge it with any third party wireless charger, but it isn’t the most elegant solution from a company that takes pride in fretting over details. One of the things that made Apple special for me was that it liked to pleasantly surpr…

I would respectfully disagree, it was preannounced with the iPhone X, which had wireless charging capabilities and was due to be released late November 2017. I, for one, hoped that AirPower would be released in early 2018, in order to use it with my…

It's a shame that they didn't lower the base price overall since the CPUs etc weren't upgraded, but I guess one would argue that it would then compete with the new iMacs with the 8-core i9 processor...

I'd have thought they would have bought back shares more aggressively since they only bought back 8.7 billion dollars worth this quarter where the stock price was heavily discounted, but let's see what Maestri says during the conference call.

I would argue that record national debt, credit card debt, student loan debt, and rapid drops in housing and automobile sales are a clear signal that the US is on the brink of a recession. Rising interest rates from the Fed are only ensuring that t…

I would argue that the iPhone X sold so well despite its obnoxious price because all other iPhones on sale were no longer compelling, and the design language was getting stale. I, for one, bought one, telling myself that I would keep it for two yea…

One would imagine that Apple has the foresight to realise that a global recession is here, and that the market for ultra high-end devices is waning. By releasing quality products at more competitive prices, they would expand their customer base and…

Every quarter we hear about “currency headwinds”, because Apple can complain about poor FX purchasing power for components, or poor FX conditions for selling their products internationally. No matter whether the dollar goes up or down there is alway…

I feel that Apple has lost some of its "wow", the way it pleasantly surprised us all. Remember when the iPad was first introduced, and all the analysts were certain it would cost at least $1000? Jobs mocked them by unveiling a price only half that…

So, if I put any weight on it (you know, like when you actually use it) while it is laying "flat" on a table with that protruding lens, it may bend...?

There is no 2018 model of the MBP without touch bar, the one currently on sale is the 2017 model, so I don't know why people are complaining about the comparison. It's Apple's own fault for not upgrading it this year with 8th generation CPUs, etc.

Katy Huberty following all of the other analysts, again, touting doom and gloom, whilst retaining a price target above AAPL’s all time high. Talk about wanting to have your cake and to eat it too.

Just a small correction, the number of shares purchased as per Apple's 10K are listed in thousands, so in July they bought 26.9 million shares (26,859 x 1,000 = 26.9M), in August 36.6 million, and in September another 29 million.

Looking forward to seeing whether Nikkei or some other analysts bring up their concerns about production problems for the upcoming iPhones conveniently during the two week quiet period before earnings, and watching the stock drop roughly 5-10% by th…

entropys said: So, that might mean there will be no announcement of new macs until August. I may be wrong, but I don’t think Apple tends to release products in August, so I’m assuming they’ll get pushed back (unfortunately) to end October …
