I feel my love affair with Apple is ending. I love the fact I can boot from a super fast SSD, it made it easy to cross grade from my MacBook to an M1 Mac mini as I can still boot the laptop drive from an older iMac I’ve kept. The loss of target disp…

Newer iMacs such as my 5K 2017 model lack target display mode which is a pity as they would make great external monitors. I’d be interested if there was a way to hook them up to an M1 Mac Mini to extend their usefulness.

5 minutes of sci-fi per episode and the rest is like a high school soap. The worst scene was the astronaut begging for a mission like a young teen while the boss (for crying out loud) practiced his golf putt. What a lazy piece of dramatic writing!. …

I switched to a s/h older Mac wired keyboard. The benefit is that it has two USB ports built in, very useful in This era of few built in ports. I see one of the ten keyless options would be even better. A great find, thanks @MplsP

I couldn't get the web version of the store to work when I initially tried to order, so by the time I'd got through (a day later) I could only get a mid-late May shipping date for a keyboard costing nearly $500. With SwiftUI, Swift, Playground…

The iPad Pro 3rd Gen is HOBBLED by its data transfer speed from the USB-C port. I would buy the new one in a flash if this has been solved. I guess it hasn't as Apple have not made it a feature. I know a lot of professional photographers/videog…

I love my gen 3 iPad Pro. The only reason I'd get the refreshed version is if they have sorted out the data transfer speed from the USB-C side. If this is usable with eg: transferring files from a camera or video recorder it would be a game chang…

I guess App Store reviews will remain, one rule for Apple, another for third party software developers. My app has 4 stars so I'm happy enough, but I do hate the many reviews that complain about the price of my app being as much as a sandwich and …

I left an iPad Pro (512Gb) 12.9" in the sun. It was my mistake. The screen was permanently discoloured, but it still worked perfectly well. Apple 'repaired' it for a payment of around £40. The repair consisted of giving me a brand new £1200 iPad …

Got them on day 1, I liked the AirPods for convenience but they never fitted my ears properly. The new ones fit well with the largest silicone tips (big ears, small nose me) and the noise cancellation is as good as I would have expected from an i…

The helmet sounds like a strange concept for Apple. But here's a speculation for the fun of it. iOS 13 betas have exposed that Apple have two AR headsets in the lab, perhaps one is the glasses and one is the helmet. The glasses probably have a r…

Sounds to me like Apple have got the supply chain about right at the moment. Stock price says so too!

The EU is rules based, but is fantastically adept at bending rules. Kafka knows where European bureacracy ends up.

During a hot period, actually one of the hottest days on record in the UK, I left my top of the line iPad Pro 12.9" on the dashboard of my car while I was getting stuff out, left the doors open to air it, and forgot to return to pick up the iPad. …

"Apple is scheduled to issue iOS 13 for public consumption alongside iPadOS on on Sept. 19, one day before iPhone 11 is due to arrive at doorsteps and on store shelves. An update, iOS 13.1, is already in the works and will see release on Sept. 30. "…

Apple's strategy seems to be to implement the hardware and software for future AR systems in the phones and get them 'battle hardened' in whatever applications can be found for them on mobile. I'm very curious what use cases the ToF camera would hav…
