[quote] Barto: Like I said, I'm expecting 166/1.5GHz G4s, with DDR333, AGP 8X, 800Mb FireWire, ATA-133. In other words, not just the Xserve. The generation after the Xserve. Am I mistaken, or has the Xserve only been shipping for about a week no…

Also...I know that this does not fit in with our wildly over active imaginations, but I just wanted to put this out there; Perhaps MS is thinking about yanking office because, and I know this sounds silly, but because it really isn't selling enough …

I must say, I found it interesting that MS actually had to step in and help Apple get 10.1 out of the door, and it is true that MS took a lot of flack for the office X delay, when it was clearly the state of Apple's OS that was the issue. In MS's d…

One danger that I see with this "emulation" be it software or hardware, is that as stated, it would negate the need for developers to create Mas OSX versions of their Applications. (MS included) All MS would have to do is find some way to kill the e…

[quote]By Lemon Bon Bon: Apple can do more with the LCD iMac. The machine is almost 7 months out of date. 17 inch screen. Yes please. 1 gig - 1.2 gig. DDR. Bus. Better. Graphics card options: Geforce 4mx to Titanium. It just needs…

[quote]MacBidouille reports that it is not possible for dealers to order the G4 933 or 1000. They also report that iBook stocks are low. I find that hard to believe, just one day after Apple launched a promo on them. [ 07-10-2002: Mess…

Recent comments by Apple execs seem to indicate that the "Sahara" G3 will be here for a while to come. The move to that chip, involved a significant internal overhaul, and I suspect that it is fair to assume that it will remain for some time to come…

[quote]The "xserve" inspired design is nice, but too many lines breaking it up. The new case actually looks smoother, and has handles. It's basically an el cap frame refined and made a little smaller, so it still has the door. And you know this h…

[quote] Patchouli I would love an ultra light and thin notebook) from Apple. I hardly ever use the optical drive and would love a 2.5lb .08" thin Mac. They'd have to use the specs of the current updated iBook (or better) for it to perform well an…

I think that part of the problem with this is that there is only one company that make these drives, Pioneer. I do hope that they get their asses in gear and make one for the next PB's but it is a lot to ask of them for such a small market.

[quote]From Matsu- I don't think any back and forth switching would be neccessary since both technologies in question seem to be modular enough. Palm doesn't need to use grafiti; it's there if you want it, but manufacturers are also using full-ke…

In my not so humble opinon, if Apple were on the verge of releasing a palm OS5 type device, they would not have come up with their own "inkwell" handwriting recognition system. This would force users to use grafiti on the palm, and then switch over…

[quote]It wont matter much when Apple is a 5$ stock. It?s make or break for Apple. I wouldn't worry too much. The stock can't go any lower, it would mean their market cap was lower that the value of their cash and investments! Not really poss…
