  • Won't happen. The OS as a whole will continue to get faster as well as the hardware it it runs on. I think when OS X matures fully, performance on G3s might be like that of G4s now. Just a guess, but it would be an improvement.

  • Even AppleSystemProfiler from the command line works. But ya, the GUI version is already there. % AppleSystemProfiler -m From the command line gives detailed information about how much RAM is in each slot, but not about the type of RAM.
