My iTunes doesn't seem to find the old backups I did - in order to restore my phone from the backup. Any idea what the problem may be? Can I rescue the backups somehow?

Removed the driver, deleted the printer, fixed permissions (and all other things that appear on the instruction list you posted) - The printer still doesn't power-on automatically.

Thanks man. But did it fix the exact same problem? i.e. printing WORKS but the printer just doesn't power up automatically.
