I've never had trouble with a Seagate HD. Just be sure to get firewire, though - USB is dreadfully slow!

Yeah, I did apple because I like a computer that stays up and running for more than a month at a time! But thank the heavens for the PCs, because repairing them pays the bills that let me buy my apples!!!

Here's one for the *other* camp. You can get the PPCs relatively cheap, especially by shopping refurb. Get a PPC now, fall in love with Tiger, and in two years - when everybody has Universal versions of their apps - go mactel. Just my $0.02.
