In the latest pictures of iPhone, there is a slot at the top similar to the bottom of the Apple Remote. You push the indentation and it opens to allow you to swap the SIM card.

"Apple iPhone ads shed disclaimer" Did anyone else read this to mean that iPhone now includes a disclaimer about storage sheds?

That's not going to give you optimal quality, as iPod's resolution is different. I'm surprised we didn't get a "convert for iPhone" option in QT and iTunes in the latest update... It would be cool if you could try encoding using several different…

There are many advantages to GPS over tower triangulation. Tower triangulation takes at least three, and preferably four towers. It's not as precise and it won't work in as many areas. It will place in you in the "area" (to within the mile or within…

I'm not sure that the map in that note is good proof of a Maps app in Leopard... or, if it is, I'll be amazed. That's a pretty standard map of Yosemite National Park, with camp site names and trails. This isn't even available on Google Maps or Earth.

If they do implement in a desktop computer, it'll have to be some sort of "hybrid" desktop, i.e. something you can take from your desk to your lap. Touch screens at eye level are a pain to use unless they're 4 ft wide, and even then, imagine yoursel…

Alas, QT Player shows a small banner advertising the biggest announcement. I hate to turn this thread into an explanation of this concept - the page I'm looking for already exists, and with good reason. I was just wondering if someone who knew what …

Thanks, but the whole point is that I DON'T want live coverage of the event. I'd rather get the spiel from Steve than from bullet-point updates. More entertaining. I know MacRumos has a page set up for this purpose - I'm not sure if AppleInsider …

n00b question, sorry - can somebody dig up a link to one of those "we'll post a direct link to the QT of the Keynote when it's available" pages for me, please? Much obliged.

I think it looks really nice, actually. I just don't think it would be that durable, and I'd hate dragging songs manually to it. All my music is in iTunes, so I'd actually have to right-click and get to the artist folder, then find the songs I want …

It's plastic. It doesn't function as a clip. It's most likely not nearly as durable as the Shuffle. That would explain the lower price. It doesn't sync with iTunes. That would stop me from getting it.

Nice thread about everything in the world except Google apps on iPhone. I wonder if Lurie was talking about Google's web apps, like Docs & Spreadsheets? It would be interesting if Apple said, ok, you want to develop third-party apps? Put the…

Wow. At that price, I might just pick one up for listening to podcasts when I walk around. The sexy styling of it alone justifies the price.
