Regarding AppleCare on this MBP, it's $240 with the ed. discount. Could I wait, and only buy AppleCare if I have a problem? I can buy the extended warranty anytime within 3 years of purchase right? I could then potentially buy AppleCare sometime …

So, given this update there doesn't seem to be alot of difference between the MB and MBP except design (size, LED screen) and GPU? I mean, assuming I get the RAM upgrade.... Grrr, what to buy for a soon-to-be grad student? (who meddles in webpag…

Whats the concensus on the glossy screen? How can they have such a deep discount on it? It must not have LED? Isn't glossy supposedly better anyways (The apple store seems to say so)? Brighter colors, etc.??

Does anyone know when the last free ipod deal began in the summer? I'll probably buy my new computer that day....

I didnt really have an idea of what ultra-portable meant until today at work. I'm an intern at a law firm, and i'm working on a project for this attorney. He whips out this tiny-ass centrino-duo IBM thinkpad. No optical drive, no hulk terrabite H…

sorry, to expand on my last post: I'm actually angry at how little this meets my somewhat modest expectations. I figured the MB would get the new SR technology when it came out....i mean whats the point of inventing the chip if manufacturers won…

The current macbook is TOO EXPENSIVE without santa rosa. They need to put SR in the MB or make it cheaper. And the ultra-portable sounds like the macbook I want....but without an optical drive. lol.

well, for all those people who are worried about updates before college in the fall, that's encouraging. Likelihood that they'll offer a free ipod nano with the purchase of a new computer again in the fall?

There is NO CHANCE of a 12" macbook pro. There just isn't. If you want a small screen, you'll buy a MB. If you want lots of power, then you need it for photoshop or videogames, so you would want a large screen anyways. Apple knows this, and thei…
