  • I just ordered the 800 TiBook as well. To go along with it, I also got the Kensington 2 button scroll wheel optical mouse, the Macally iKey4 full-sized keyboard (i really like having a number pad, and the keyboard was cheaper than a USB number pad),…
  • I doubt the bandwidth of Bluetooth could handle this (maybe g could...), but it'd be awsome to have some kind of wireless rendezvous-based technology, similar to what was demoed in July with iTunes. If you're in a room with more than one iPod, share…
  • This must have been in the works for a while. One of the screenshots in the MS online demo says the date is Monday, Nov. 12. Nov. 12 was a Monday last year, not this year.
  • How about click 'n' drag scroll wheel behavior. It's really nice for going through really long web pages.
  • On a slightly differant note (not file management and the like), I like being able to browse through a folder of images as thumbnails, or watching a movie without a seperate viewer app (quicktime OS integration maybe). I know that's what iPhoto is f…
  • If Apple is trying to get people to switch, their commercials have to not be quirky or cute. They have to be mainstream because that is the market they're going for.
  • These pages have clearly not been debuged yet, because the arrows next to the links to the other XMovies actually link to switch ads. It was just a quick copy-paste job on the code. I wonder why this stuff is already on the public server.
  • It doesn't auto-highlight the URL in the address bar when clicked on. Grrr....

  • I would think Apple would have a hard time taking the pro-audio market. Unlike video (Avid=$100,000), the Digi and MOTU stuff is not rediculously priced, and PT is such a studio staple.
  • As far as the battery, Apple suggests that when the PowerBook is brand new (within the first week), you should run the battery all the way down, then fully charge it. They call it "Calibrating your Battery for Best Performance." As for the CDs, I…
  • I've been running 10.2 (and 10.2.1) for about two weeks now on my Ti800, and it works just fine. If I encounter any of the problems you mentian, I'll let you know.
  • Thanks. I should learn to read more carefully.
  • [quote] Ick...anyone else notice that the page that says it is down is using the old Aqua/widgets for Apple.com pre MWNY? The Apple logo leaps out as extremely disgusting.... It also still says iTools. Also, the 'Store is Down' site is avail…
  • The way I understand it, a chip works essentially by being a huge network of switches. A switch has only 2 possitions (on/off), so all machine code must be in base 2 (0/1). I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's the reason in a nutshell.
  • How come the shiping time from the Apple online store is 7 days for the TiBook, while it's only 1-3 days for the PowerMac? Considering the August 12-13ish date is supposedly for PowerMacs, I can't imagine they're running out of PowerBooks. Sorry,…
  • "This will literally revolutionize computers, and the way we use them. (no not a new keyboard or a mouse)." So it's an InkWell tablet. At least that seems like what you're hinting.
  • Sorry for not providing a link the first time:
  • Why is the 'Powerful Offer' promo still on Apple's site? It was only good through July 7th. If they updated the promo page with a new offer on the 8th, one would think they could bother to take down the OLD offer. Maybe the're going to extend it to …
  • I want my Power key back!! It is one of the best buttons ever put on a keyboard, and just one other thing to gloat about to your PC friends. Oh, and does anyone else find it to be a problem that when the Pro keyboard is right infront of the G4 iMac …
  • General question (not for this rackmount release specificly): would it be possible to make a firewire (gigawire?) based PCI breakout box, so those people who don't need any slots don't get any (ie servers), and those who do need 'em simply get an ad…
