FYI the enabler is installed in ~/Library/iTunes/Mobile Applications and is tied to your iTunes account so make sure that the Mac is authorized.

Technically the apps are included in the 1.1.3 update, and the Software Ugrade only downloads an enabler.

It would be much more expensive if it had to have built in AirPort, controller and so on.

1.1.3 for iPod Touch is free too (a 165.5MB download). It's the extra apps that are $20 and they are a separate download.
