Sounds like a dead backlite. You'll have to replace the backlite or the entire screen wich can be costly.

I have the 17" $1199 model. It's the most powerfull computer I've ever owned. You really don't need any upgrades. Graphics would be the only upgrade worth it. But Halo runs perfectly on the stock 128MB x1600 with all settings on high.

No. Also a compatible upgrade CPU would cost ~$300-$400 alone.

It is one of the Slower G4 systems, due to it's lack of L2 cache. But should run fine for internet and small games. If you need power, I'd sell this system I'm sure you can get $300-$500 for it, And buy a Mac mini.

It depends, this Mac (not MAC) could have several different amounts of cache and bus speeds. I'd imagine it's around a 1Ghz Pentium 3. If you could give us some more information we could get a better estimate.

5G iPods can play 640x480, they always have been able too. They just downscale it to 320x240 on they ipod screen, but play 640X480 on TV's.

I had another thread but the mods deleted it. It's a very nice Machine, BIG step up from my 12" PowerBook. Specs... 17" 2.0Ghz Core 2 Duo 128MB ATI X1600 160GB HD Bluetooth/Wi-Fi 1GB RAM Runs UB Halo Perfectly with all settings on high.
