Wenger, STM and Targus bags are good quality bags. You just need to figure out if the design fits your needs! I got the STM for 17" convertible bag (backpack, sholder strap, and handle carry) because I wanted a slim bag that could be used in a few d…

I've got the 17"C2D and bought a STM bag (slim design) to carry the laptop. No problems! I'd check out the Swiss Army wenger bag. They seem to have lots of room for student's books etc.

My MacBook Pro also seems to charge from 95% to 99% while connected to the electrical circuit. I wonder if this is usual?

I have nothing but praise for my 17" MacBook Pro. It has not been hot under any circumstances. It has had no problems at all ...praise be! Windows is also working well although I must confess, I don't have much experience on that system. For all th…

I use mine professionally video editing with FCP and AfterEffects. I bought the 17" MacBook Pro for shooting directly in DV Rack. I just started on windows today, so, the whole process with that system is new to me. Been a Mac guy from the beginning…

OWC is a good supplier of ram if you need a 2 gigger! I've been dealing with them for years = never a disappointment.

I'm getting the STM Convertible because it's thin. Good to hear that it's well padded. I saw one pic of the interior but the pics online are not that good.

Make a change while you are young, it will be so, so much easier to go with the flow of things. I think you can have the best of both worlds on an Intel-Mac. I do video and, for me, there is no other reasonable answer than a Mac!

MacBook Pro 17" 2.33 = no heat problems so far. Nice machine!

I got the same message on smcFanControl, so, I installed Fan Control instead. Works like a charm!

It sounds like demand outstrips avability. Sorry to hear about this. Apple should be working hard to get this wonderful (so far) machine out to all and sundry!

Futher report -17" 2.33, 2 gigs ram sweet- this thing has been flawless up to this point. Heat has not been a problem. The highest heat so far under intensive CPU effort has been 37C. Man I'm stoked!
