If Microsoft dies, my Clues point to Steve Ballmer, with grit and perspiration, in the boardroom.

I suspect that Apple is going to make an overt effort to invade the enterprise. There are a lot of features in Lion that seem to indicate this, but one feature makes it obvious: the fact that any Mac can be turned into a server with a few configurat…

Whatever. So far as I'm concerned, Steve Jobs is, well, to all a good knight.

Developers know what it means that "an uncaught exception was raised," but this is just gibberish to ordinary mortals. In fact, since it is in the passive voice, non-geeks might think they did something wrong. Apple's computers are for the rest of …

"Awoken"? In English, the word is "awakened."

Ballmer essentially said nothing. However, I did try to use an iPad to take notes in a meeting, and it didn't work. I should have used my Bluetooth keyboard. (I can, however, type long emails on the iPad, probably because I only have to pay atten…

How is it a surprise or a scandal that the victim of a theft called the police to report the crime?

I have read the last paragraph of the article several times, and I'm not sure what it means. Could someone rewrite it?

The iPad isn't approved by the FCC yet. Using it violates regulations and could get Apple in trouble. Jobs was right to be upset that Alan Murphy used its wireless capabilities.

I am always getting my fingers tangled up when I'm editing text in Dreamweaver, because it doesn't follow Mac keyboard conventions, such as Option arrow and Command arrow doing the same thing. Also, code view and design view use the keyboard differe…

The court's order does indeed include the Rebel EFI, but not explicitly. If Psystar tries to sell it, they will be in trouble with the court as well as Apple. As for following the money, we're talking about Miami. I lived there when Castro took …

If most of the people who bought stuff walked out with little bags, presumably containing Windows 7, the stores are already in trouble. There's not enough money in that to sustain the store. I have a feeling the stores will be around as long as Micr…

I wish that Apple Insider would give more thought to the links they put in articles. Some are very mysterious, some are trivial, and though most are substantive they look arbitrary. Following any of them interrupts the article. Perhaps the links cou…

I don't see the point of DVR. I can use iTunes to purchase two seasons of a show that was on in 2003 and 2004; DVR won't let me go back in time. Also, over-the-air TV would just compete with iTunes.

Steve Ballmer said that Windows 7 is Vista done right. So if Snow Leopard is a service pack, then Windows 7 is an apology. And you have to pay for that?

For al_bundy who wants a Mac forum with only unicorns and rainbows and bunnies: My MacBook Pro works great. Sure, I know, the lid is crooked. It wasn't delivered that way, that's my own craftsmanship. I dropped it from the kitchen table onto the flo…
