Excellent points. Most of the DOJ's arguments are dated and make little sense. The only really solid case the DOJ could make are the (sometimes) 30% charges Apple makes for its 'monopoly' app store and no-alternative in-app charges made for services…

Will matte offer something I'd love to see on iPads, a 'feels like paper' texture for the glass. A less slippery surface would make using an Apple Pencil feel more like using a traditional pencil or pen. That would be a plus for those doing graphics.

The 22-year-old woman, who uses the social handle "Meatball," has been held for court on charges that include burglary, conspiracy, and criminal trespass, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported. Her video included footage of people stealing from the App…

Expected updates as part of iOS 18 include a hearing aid mode feature destined for the AirPods Pro, while AirPods may gain a hearing test function. My hearing isn't great but not so bad that I need the cost and hassles of a standard hearing aid. I'd…

Builders often have valuable tools, chargers and other equipment stolen from construction sites. Apple would do well to come up with a wider variety of packages for AirTags, so they can be installed in more places. For instance I'd love to have a th…

there's one problem that modern "AI" algorithms can account for — other humans on the road.I think you meant "cannot account for..." That's hardly surprising. As humans we also have trouble accounting for the behavior of other humans. I always drive…

$50 million a season with ten episodes seems like quite a bargain compared to what Amazon spent for the first season of "The Rings of Power." That $50 million for a season wouldn't even cover a single episode of the latter. Accounting for just the …

I'd be happy enough to see the top be a sleeve that's a screw-on and replaceable battery.

Given how often many people glance at their phones and how much additional hassle opening up a folding phone would be, I doubt the idea of a folding phone makes much sense. Apple might be better advised to adopt a different idea, one that'd allow t…

If Stewart hasn't say it, I guess in a strange way we can't say that Apple punished him for saying it. And yet are we headed for a Minority Report world where people are punished for what they might say?

Wearing a Vision Pro to look at patient data, such as that captured during a CAT scan makes sense. Wearing it while talking with patients would be freakish.

This is hardly surprising. The UK, once called the "mother of parliaments" for pioneering democracy and the rule of law, is rapidly becoming a faceless dictatorship of meddlesome bureaucrats." A UK barrister (courtroom lawyer) who calls himself the …

The hand-gesture UI sounds a bit like that in Minority Report but with a headset rather than a wrap-around screen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33Raqx9sFbo

That request reportedly covered "systemic risks relevant to their services, in particular those related to the dissemination of illegal and harmful content, any negative effects on the exercise of fundamental rights, as well as any negative effect o…

If I were about to spend over $3000, I wouldn't be bothered by a 25-minute sales pitch. Indeed, I'd demand a lot more than that before I'd buy.

Factors specifically affecting Apple are a difficult first-half handset market, and signs of RAM and Flash chip pricing increasing.Could someone tell me what "handset" Apple makes? That's the old term for the part of a wired telephone that was held …

Most of this articles seems to be about the money Masimo makes out of patent settlements. Is Masimo a serious company or is it a patent troll that keeps up a charade of selling medical products. To research that I checked Amazon. Their Masimo Mig…

LIke a lot of things lawyers say, "irreparable harm" means little. It's just a verbal button pushed to push for a court response. The royalties that Apple may end up paying Masimo probably amount to only a fraction of one percent of its annual profi…

Heat is why I've charged my iPhone exactly once that way. When the charging was done, I picked it up. "Too hot," I thought. "That's bad for the battery and not good for the phone itself. And I suspect there isn't a fix, that wireless charging has in…

You'd think college students whose parents could afford to buy them a $1000 jacket would have the sense to AirTag their valuables without being told. Then again, maybe not. I've never noticed any correlation between parental wealth and the intellige…
