I thought Siri was much improved in iOS 8 but after the last update it's really FUBAR. No longer respends to "Hey Siri," and when I manually woke him up to ask "What are your new features?" the reply was "Here's what I can do now:" And that was it.

From this article, as has been mentioned previously: "GTAT was unable to create sapphire at the 262-kilogram boule size that it had originally agreed to produce." Sorry if this has been discussed before, I must have missed it. What would the dime…

As a resident of NYC who travels upstate regularly, I find Apple's Maps to be utterly unusable. When seeking walking directions to the surrounding boroughs it will direct me to routes by ferry (with no way to override), when there are dozens of mult…

Phil didn't mention how much this new thinner iPad weighs. The first iPad Air was just about a pound, right? And what is the difference between the new [rear facing] camera on the iPad Air 2 and that of the iPhone 6?

Funny but just a few weeks ago I noticed something different about my iPad but couldn't put my finger on it right away. Finally It dawned on me that the status bar read LTE rather than 4G. There had been no prior announcement that LTE was coming t…

Anybody know whether Safari for iOS 7 will enable full screen on the iPad? Thanks.

Funny but I received the same notification on my iPad LTE from AT&T, but my Notification settings remain unchanged. Huh?

This movie will never be released, it will have to escape.

The really big snafu was that after updating the Evernote app from an iDevice and changing passwords, sign-in failed. The password change was effectively recorded though because the website would recognize it and allow sign-in, just the app gave an…

Funny but I tried this out on my 2005 PPC eMac and it did not write any data to disk, just consumed RAM.

"Available on OS X, Windows and Linux, the untethered hack allows users to jailbreak their devices without having to connect to a computer." Wrong again. The jailbreak itself requires connection to a computer. It is "untethered" in that a jail br…

"It comes with its own app, which also allows users to dump content from an iPad or iPhone's internal storage directly to the drive. That's not going to work for content purchased through iTunes, but it will work for things like photos and videos ta…

The only feature I find missing from Safari on iOS is fullscreen mode on the iPad (whereas it is automatically enabled on the iPhone.) Don't understand why Apple insists we stare at that distracting URL bar all the time. Love the full screen mode…

Frustratingly, neither Apple nor Google Maps for iOS offer biking directions; only Google's web app has this feature. Furthermore, dragging to change route on the web app is no longer supported on iOS, a real PITA as biking directions so often need …

So about the same dpi as the iPad 2 then?

The Brooklyn Bridge is still quite messed up in the above picture. The suspension cables are all missing and the pedestrian level has been crushed onto the motorway. Glad I came home over the Manhattan!

This Apple design does not look like a great choice for "active" users. There is still a relatively long wire hanging down from the earbuds which can snag when one is physically active, e.g. riding a bicycle. A better design for sports is a strict…
