I've noticed that Standby goes completely black in the middle of the night, about 4 hours in. A tap on the screen makes it reappear and stay on until morning. Does anyone think the problem discussed in this thread is tied to this behavior?

Yep, I think someone forgot to proof-read the post. Anyway, it's 1:00 EDT, not 13:00 hours.

Based on this review, I decided to take a chance and order it. I was trying to install it in a 2019 Honda Accord. It does NOT work. There is no tech support. The 24/7 claim on their Web site is baseless. After trying to contact them for a week, I f…

I'm a subscriber, but I really don't like the new UI. Since Apple bought Texture in order to launch News, why not borrow from the excellent UI that made Texture such a hit. Something simple like downloading content to read off-line was easy-peasy. N…

I'm very disappointed in the Mini 5's memory options. 64 GB is not enough memory for the base configuration. I have the same gripe with the iPhone X and Xs. Why are the only two choices so far apart? I realize it's an up-sell gimmick by Apple, but i…

I'm very disappointed in the Mini 5's memory options. 64 GB is not enough memory for the base configuration. I have the same gripe with the iPhone X and Xs. I realize it's an up-sell gimmick by Apple, but it doesn't make it any more palatable. Frank…

Am I the only one that is disappointed about the memory options available for the new iPad Mini 5? For the base price of $399, the buyer gets only 64 GB of memory. The iPad 4 sells for the exact same price and has 128 GB of memory. The only upgrade …

TypeIt4Me (much better than TextExpander) and 1Password. You also left out Pathfinder 8, the best replacement for Finder. I can't imagine running any of my Macs without it.

Get rid of the home bar, or at least let it be dimmed. I use my iPhone on my bed stand as a clock, and while I can dim the display from within the app so that it's not intrusive, the home bar is there like a full moon. Let the user decide whether it…

I have AT&T Uverse as my ISP, and Screens flat out doesn't work. Regardless of port forwarding, etc., if you have more than one computer behind the Uverse gateway, you won't be able to make Screens work. I've worked extensively with their tech s…

Skip the Koogeek and stick with either TP-Link or WeMo, in that order. I've been using these switches for a couple years now. I have the plug-in and wall switch from both vendors. My recommendation tips towards TP-Link. Their wireless reception perf…

This makes upgrading a showstopper for me. I own an unlocked 6s Plus and love the idea that I can use any carrier. I purchased my phone from Apple under their program that allows me to upgrade annually, if I choose to. Will the "Verizon" phone suppo…

Well, 8.4 sure screwed up audiobooks. I hope that 8.4.1 fixes that problem. Early feedback says the problem has been remedied in the public beta of 9, but I miss being able to use my audiobooks in a native iPhone app. Now I have to use Audible to pl…

I have an iPhone 6 plus. For me, I have to press the home button three times. The first time is to pair it with my iPhone, then twice more once the Mobile Home is connected. The first time brings up the passcode screen, the second time brings up Sir…

Does his device use the 30-pin connector or the new Lightning adapter? There has been a paucity of devices with Lightning connectors and I fear that only those users with older iPhones would be able to take advantage of this groundbreaking technolog…

The Kindle Store already has a significantly better selection of books than iBooks, so all this does is force more users to Amazon. This doesn't have anything to do with DRM or Amazon would have to do the same thing. This is just Apple busting chops…

Boy, do I feel dumb. The solution to this question is to click on the Airport icon, highlight (not click) the wireless connection, and turn off ?Show Time Connected? from the flyout menu. Duh!! Sorry for the post, everyone!

I've been an Apple user since the Apple II+. There is definitely a change afoot in the culture. As evidence of that, I recently just upgraded to the new 15" MBP, and can't believe I've already had to return it for repair, where it is stuck awaiting …

I think the new Windows ads are terrific. I'm a Mac user, but that doesn't translate into me being a Windows basher. Competition is what makes Apples strive to differentiate its operating system over Windows and Linux and, hopefully, excel. If it to…

I carry an iPhone and a Verizon 8130 Blackberry. There isn't any comparison on the coverage between the iPhone and the Blackberry, especially when EV-DO is compared to AT&T's 3G. Verizon has the best coverage, at least in South Florida, where I …
