I have always had good luck with LaCie drives that I have either used myself or recommended to a customer to buy. As far as putting a HD into an ext FW case, Maxtor and WD are pretty much on top of the game right now. I prefer and have always ha…

Try cleaning (gently) the contacts in the ink tank holder and the contact surfaces on the ink cartridge. You may also want to try reinstalling the driver.

Make sure your firmware version is current. Also, if you have any non-Apple ram you may want to try removing it and then trying the install.

American made '89 Ford Mustang 4 cyl auto, 167K and counting. Nary a problem with it other than the paint flaking off.

Has anyone had any problems getting the Dazzle to work in OS9? I have a friend that has one and it works great with iMovie2 in OSX but in OS9.2.2/iMovie2 all he gets is a blue screen with "Camera Connected" showing. Sometimes the counter on the bl…

What brand is your drive? Some drives (used to) come with a jumper setting to disable spindown, but that may have just been SCSI.

Does anyone know of or have a G5 that has the (legal) beta of Panther running on it?

Quote: Originally posted by DVD_Junkie ... But what would the final numbers really be like for the 1.8 G5 and the G4's if they also had 2GB of RAM? That I would really like to know. Agreed. I wouldn't think that much ram would help the G4's…

Maxtor and Western Digital hard drives seem to be the two most popular brands around here. Whichever you get, get a 7200 RPM drive. That series of iMac's hard drive bus is either ATA-33 or 66, though just about anything new is ATA100/133. These d…

In the spirit of the original topic... Do you think Panther will require even more RAM to run "effectivly," or could the opposite happen and it could run well with less memory than we are used to. Like the 128MB that Apple still ships in it's basi…
