It's not terrible difficult to remove the top cover and check for any water getting under the KB. The keyboard has a black sticker which covers the entire bottom side. It won't protect everything but if it wasn't a lot of water, I doubt it got pas…

It actually has holes drilled under each diamond so light can shine through. Not sure if the illumination from the MBP is strong enough but it should make a pretty cool look.
