  • Shared networking is working fine for me with VPC 6.0 and Win 2000 Pro. It set itself up automatically after installing windows. Maybe a reinstall of VPC and then windows onto VPC would help? PS i'm on my campus network using a DHCP connection
  • I love using my 15" AlBook for school. I doubt i will every buy a desktop again (unless it is in addition to a laptop). And the 1ghz processer better last me the 4 years i'm at school! Adding a display to the tower will put the price about th…
  • It will happen. Steve wouldn't have made such a promise if he wasn't sure. 0.09 G5s are already in xServes. Its just a matter of time before these chips make their way into towers. They will clock higher. Maybe someone could post power consumptio…

  • I've said it before, and i'm going to say it again: The next powebook will use a g4. This rumour is actually believable. Hopefully this will be the last of apple's pro machines to use a g4. Edit: this is pure speculation
  • Does it support the keychain the way Camino does? I love this feature and won't leave Camino until a better browser comes along that supports the keychain.
  • Was it cold in the mountains? I ask because i've often wondered if taking an ipod in the cold could create a problem such as yours. If its cold, the metal could contract faster than the plastic or vice versa the metal and plastic on my ipod a…

  • Will you really be away from your computer long enough to fill an entire microdrive and therefore need to transfer to iPod? either way, I don't see why they wouldn't work (not that i have the card reader or microdrive, but i'm speculating)
  • I agree that FW 800 on iPods would be complete overkill, but with the new dock and dock connector adding FW800 would be as easy as releaseing a new cable and a slightly updated iTunes. either way its a waste of money.

  • Interesting idea. Seems like there woldn't be too much demand for another 1U unit from apple though. There were rack adaptors available for the b/w g3s and g4 towers that allowed the towers to be mounted in a rack horizontally, but the g5 case is…
