I doubt the failure rate is any different from any other phone. The lack of support is worrysome, but will probably be taken care of over time.

Keepvid.com is the easy way. They've even got a bookmarklet you can put in your bookmarks toolbar. The site is slow sometimes, though.

One thing I expect Apple will want in a tablet is mondo battery life. For 12+ hours the only way to go right now is ARM, and since it doesn't have to run Windows, that won't be a problem.

Broad media codec support- it needs to be able to play every video file a Mac can play. Not just h.264 and Apple's .mov garbage.
