From Apple's up-to-date site (http://www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate) comes this text: The OS X Lion Up-to-Date upgrade will be available at no additional charge via the Mac App Store to all customers who purchased a qualifying new Mac system from …

So, will I need the dock anymore for my iPhone/iPod except for convenient charging? In addition to whatever else it does, it sounds like iCloud may effectively be the wireless syncing people have wanted or am I missing something?

I can replicate the problem on my iPhone 4 but only when WiFi is on. With WiFi turned off, the signal strength may not drop or only drop one bar after holding the phone in the prescribed manner. I can't say the dropped bar is because of this issue…

Does anyone know if the iPad will be able to connect to WiFi or bluetooth enabled printers? I wonder if there will something comparable to Finder for managing the files you create using iWork (and, presumably, third party applications) and retrievi…

Not to be dense but I don't understand the issue. Using Preview in SL, I just opened a multi-page pdf, dragged another multi-page pdf to Preview's sidebar to combine them, rearranged the pages and deleted some pages then save the newly combined pdf…

One thing I think may be causing some confusion about the amount of HDD space people think they're saving is this. In SL, Apple calculates KB, MB and GB in multiples of 1,000 bytes and not 1,024 bytes as has traditionally been the case. A new 500G…

I have a June 2004 dual 2.5Ghz G5 and it started to leak about a month ago so I decided to replace it with a new iMac. After replacing it I started reading about others having similar problems so I called Apple to see if they would do anything to r…

You can also hold down the Option key when you choose "Empty Trash" to force delete such files. I had to do it myself this past week.

Synching Mail accounts between my MBP and Mac Pro has never worked for me. I can reset the sync history on both machines, replace my MobileMe data with the data from my MBP, immediately follow this by replacing the data on my Mac Pro with the data …

Assuming I follow your description, I can tell you that mine doesn't have these. If you're fairly good at fixing things and it bothers you (sounds like something that would bother me), you can easily replace the upper shell. I just replaced my LCD…

No problems here. I usually connect from work using my AT&T/Cingular wireless card with my MBP but it also works when I'm at another person's house and I'm using their wireless network. I haven't turned off/on any ports, firewall settings, etc…
