If it’s based on revenue that is sales it seems like it’s an added VAT that already exists. I hope Apple includes this sales tax in customer it’s receipts. Of of course there was mention of dropping tax on profits.

Nothing is forever. I suspect Spotify et al changed their terms to attract Swift as well as Swift not wanting to loose audience. It will be interesting to see if Swift new albums etc. appear as iTunes exclusives.

AT&T has been flogging DIRECT TV to me for months because of my iPhones [since first iPhone i 2007], well, this puts a nail into that coffin. No thank you AT&T.

Woz seems to be seduced by the buzz, but the Musk initiatives remain very problematic from a business perspective. Yes exciting, but still problematic.

Generally agree with article albeit HomeKit was missing in discussion. This remains a bit of a hobby and a usecase consistent with cost remains elusive. I suspect like Texas roofs, this makes sense for new homes where the cost is incidental, but i…

I wish Apple continued and updated the mini. My wife has wrist problems and holding a full size iPad is not an option, while the large iPhone Plus is still too small for serious reading etc. I hope the rumor is false since this has been my go to…

ronvdb said: The law states that the consumer has the choice of repair or replacement. Repair was not possible, so a replacement was given which was not new. Dutch law does not state that it should be new. The jurisprudence in this case comes…

I really hope Apple does more than a memory upgrade on iPad Mini. My wife would like to upgrade her iPad Mini soon. The smaller sized Mini is ideal for her and iPad are too large and heavy.

1. The customer is advertisers we are the product 2. So after months and months of lip service regarding fake news and awful stuff on YouTube and linked in Google nothing done 3. However, when customers start moving their money away NOW Google or …

I really hope Apple updates the mini further, its size is really important to some people who need a light iPad and the largest iPhone is still not a device for reading. Ideally, a pro version with pencil and perhaps haptic screen like iPhone 7. …

Like nexus and pixel laptops, 2-3 years before retiring. Not it sure Android builders need inspiration for premium phones just a market for them.

Is there insight into earnings and profit vs quantities? Also what is the type performance range being included? I am getting deja vu with iPhone and iPad and Netbooks compare.

This is good news albeit they are very late to the game. They just added ApplePay and I hope their apps include using the Apple Watch as well. I would love to dump their bank card and 100% ApplePay at cashier,ATMs, and online.

Given the history of large acquisitions it is probably more useful to show how and when they make sense. The evidence at Google, Microsoft, et al point to most acquisitions being fantasy guesses at the future (almost universally wrong), efforts to g…

Two points. 1. OLED display technology does NOT provide high quality color or work well in bright lights vs vivid black and white contrast. If used it will be a step back in terms of color quality. This may be ok due to power savings (think watch)…

Unauthorized repairs would complicate warranty and security for devices. It is unlikely that Apple would warranty or even repair devices serviced outside its system of trained authorized shops. With regards to the battery, Apple's continuing focus…

I remain confused on this case. How does Apple distinguish between a passesnger and a driver? in my experience, Apple CarPlay precludes the use of text, etc while driving although it will speak back content of text messages and accept voice and vo…

Not sure that the good intentions in the proposed legislation can work. These devices are highly integrated and very compact, making repair difficult. In fact, often the devices are replaced with returns since repairs are problematic and expensive.…

Given Apple's penchant to have multiple vendors on critical parts, this is surprising (e.g., screens and modems). One argument might be technical and cost, but the SAMSUNG response to create organizational "firewall" between foundry and design sugge…

This always confused me. It is my understanding that the "shelter" only applied to US overseas earning that when "returned" to the US have a heavy tax penalty. This may eventually be resolved with regard to the US in 2017 with long needed tax refo…
