no. just pressing the option key gives me a selection of startable systems and the opportunity to open the CD tray to insert an OSX disk. Starting from this disk works, but old system on HD will still not start anymore

Not every motherboar maker at the PC-front is selling more MB than Apple. But they are cheap nevertheless...

OK. @ outsider and @others Excuse me for getting in this train of flames. I'll stop it for my person.

@ G-News You say "pardon me" just to go on insulting me ("whiny bitch" etc. Good style. Good character. ---- What G-news does'nt understand, is that he seems to be a fundimentalist Apple Quaker, with low social skills... ----- Enough t…

Hi Gnews! What have I done that you are so full of hate? All I can tell you is. It would be no pity to get rid of any contact to such personally agressive posts... I'm really disappointed 'cause I know Swiss people as very kind and friend…

Oh Multimedia! I apologize again. Please forgive. I posted before that I was too fast and did not read right. So stay cool...

OK Cosmo - I've been to fast to read ;-( Yes he can replace his optical drive and yes he can replace the Zip with a hard drive. There is space for one optical 5,25" drive with front access and one 3,5? drive with front access.

No chance! There is only space for one 5,25" drive. But you can connect it external via firewire...

Perhaps it's more clever to slow down the fan instead of plling it's plug. Try a series resistor to set the fan to 7V. (R in the range of 50 ... 150 ?)

There is no such a converter. And if it would be it should be to expensive. It ist better to sell the old PB and buy a new iBook or PB G4 with Firewire included.
-
The question is: For what purpose? What should be transportet/connected?

Give your equipment to an MacPlus owner. Is there one on the third planet? Well then post here! You are the only one to rate this thread politically correct...

I'm using optical mice for two years now. Even my first one (MS intellimouse optical) works perfectly for more than 7000 h beeing pushed over the mousepad. Therefor I believe there is something ill with your mouses physics.
