A Sr VP at Apple is a CEO of most other companies with a business often larger than some competitors. Usually companies lose people like this to competitors since every ambitious senior director level guy wants to be CEO somewhere. And it's not li…

You never want to price yourselves out of the game. But at the same time, you have to understand the marketplace. The original market for the Mac Mini largely changed over the last decade. You could say the same for machines like the iMac which o…

I'm not sure why everybody complains about Mac RAM prices as if it's the first time they see that Apple RAM prices are high. They've only been pricing RAM this way for 30 years. At least they gave us an option this time of Bring-Your-Own-DRAM this…

The fact that you can bring your own RAM is crucial (no pun intended) in keeping the true cost of this machine down for many of us. Just buy the fastest processor & SSD storage you can afford and go. I wasn't expecting an upgradable SSD. Even…

It should be noted that the method Apple is using for doing Dolby Atmos via streaming services like iTunes, Netflix and Vudu is not quite the same as playing Atmos off a Blu-Ray disc. Apple TV doesn't support that method yet at all from any source.

I've had this problem too. I thought it was a faulty cable but now I think it's a software problem. I have a iPhone X 256 GB.

All this has to do with the fight over which organization wins over which video codec is the de facto industry standard. In the DVD days, it was MPEG-2 and users paid license fees for it. When Blu-Ray came out, two new standards emerged, the first…

The thing not being said about the iPhone Xr is that its a solution to a problem in that Apple still doesn't have a second source for the iPhone X/Xs OLED screen. Samsung is the only company who can build it and they are exacting a huge pound of fl…

DougE said: WTF is Apple doing? This new phone lineup makes absolutely no sense to me at all. Dropped the SE (now there is no small option), kept the 7/7+, kept the 8/8+, new Xr, then Xs and Xs Max. First - Why bother keeping the 7 Series…

While this article is informative, I think there is information you are leaving out. I'd give proper attribution to conversation about Mojave on Unsupported Macs being an active discussion hosted by Dosdude on Macrumors.com. Yes, it's a competitor…

This makes perfect sense. It's not that the screen itself is the secret to "Trutone". Trutone apparently works with a calibrated light sensor on the MacBook Pro that gauges the ambient light ands makes adjustments to the known, calibrated screen. …
