Hmmm... it just appears to me that Microsoft have no professionalism whatsoever. Even when they create a product to compete with a world-class product like iOS, they destroy it with this childish and pathetic show. *shakes head* Can we believe…

For the record, my 3GS has a marked improvement so I expect that the issue was the codebase for something major in the OS needed to be improved, and that improvement has carried over to the 3GS. On my 4G, it seems about the same, if not a tad quicke…

@morn, good analysis. Yes, I'd agree with you. Telstra's pricing is somewhat ridiculous, but for that price, they have a network that is perhaps one of the best in the world. Now if they'd only implement Visual Voicemail *grumble grumble*

You do have to remember when referring to The Daily Telegraph's report that the mobile cell towers have a much better coverage in Australia than they do in the States. Australian telecommunications technology is around 4 years ahead of the US, and o…

There are APIs and new minor features in the new beta that aren't appropriate for a 4.0.1 release considering they are planned for iOS 4.1. It won't be the beta. But it might have the beta's changes to those key areas.

In other news... Governments reap the benefits of commerce due to taxes... Is it just me who thought this article was a little... obvious? :P

I don't believe the iPod died at all, or is even waning. The iPhone is the iPod, evolved. Apple realized that people had two devices and one resource they all wanted: a phone, an iPod, and the Internet. iPod itself evolved. It went from a 5GB brick …

I see... The question becomes... how can we input aliases in an apple-like way? :P

The real question is simple: Apple is currently using phone numbers to get data that it needs to initiate a FaceTime call. How can they port this to a device that doesn't have a phone number? Apple seem to have locked themselves into a corner …

I actually expected this after seeing Apple post that HTML5 page. Apple is investing a lot in the web, but doing so rather quietly. Safari's webkit base is, no matter what is said in the court of public opinion, leading the charge in improving brows…

I agree Solipsism that a completely new OS is very unlikely. My recommendation would be that there will be a UI framework distinct for the phone, and the tablet. UIKit currently drives the iPhone's interface. If Apple creates a new version for th…
