If you write in C#, the hardware should be abstracted, as in .NET, so the same code can run on different hardware.

Why is everybody so excited about UI changes ? What makes you think there would be any ? Apple has always said there would be no new features but under the hood improvements and there is already a lot to get me excited about.

I think the point is to show that the company runs fine without SJ and can deliver great products. It wouldn't make sense to see him return as the Messiah.
