Why would you want to networka printer via USB any way buy a hub or switch and plug those computers in over ethernet and set it up that way.

You should be able to do it no problem sharing printers is easy. When I had my wintel workgroup of 2 towers and my Xp Laptop I used to do that all the time and I had XP on 2 and 98 on one. Play around with it.

Yes it is possible to do it but it isn't done by software... you have to open your iBook and change a few things on the motherboard... for 100mhz extra it isn't worth it.

all my drive came with was drivers for it.. nothing do any formatting at all!! So I don't know if I am screwed or what.

Well it won't come up in my Disk Utility in OSX or OS9.... but the HD will come up on my desktop and I am able to use it in OS9.... it will not allow me to pick a Mac format it just stays with the DOS format.

The only way you are going to speed it up is if you have a seperate physical drive for swap not a partition. Partitions are logical drives on one physical drive.
