I bought a 250GB, 7200RPM, 800 FW drive. Best external drive ever at this price point. Will probably buy two or three more and set it up in a RAID array. Lacie have a seriously good product here.

I have acquired the same problem recently after upgrading to a new 15" PB. The main problem I have is that my "always on" internet connection seems to drop out periodically. I recently bought an antenna for the AE Base Station thinking that it mig…

I started out using Macs at home in the mid 1980's and was a big fan until Apple lost its way in the 90's (poor hardware, price/value equation no longer stacked up). At the same time, my work environment always used PC's (typically good quality, fa…

Have been using the new 15" for about two weeks now - it is a very fine piece of engineering: - very solid feel (the case is bomb proof) and the keyboard is amazing - backlighting OK - could be a little brighter on the right side of the keyboard…

I ordered a 15", 1.25GHz PB with a 5400 rpm drive and 1GB RAM from the Apple Store the day after it was announced (also ordered FCP Express and an iSight camera). The estimated shipping date was Friday 3 October. I received everything on Friday 25…

Market share tends to be overrated and needs to be looked at in context, specifically with respect to the overall size of the market. Citibank is the world's largest financial institution and it has less than 1/2% share of the market for financial …

If Jobs & Co does a Houdini and fits a G5 into 12" or 15", I'm a buyer. In fact, I'll probably buy 2

Apple should first go after third party IT outsourcing companies (such as EDS) - these guys stand to benefit big-time from any efficiency improvements because they could, upon implementation of a Mac platform, sever 80%-90% of the IT support infrast…

1982/83 after seeing a demo of the first Lisa. The GUI was amazing. Since then, everything else has been incremental.

Agree with you on math, finance, date, text functions etc where once the basic calc engine is put together, adding additional functionality (or for that matter, add-ins) should be straightforward (also, most spreadsheet functions are easily discerna…

In the new "IBM friendly" world, perhaps Apple could consider licensing/jointly developing Lotus 1-2-3 and Lotus WordPro for OS X. It strikes me that the spreadsheet app is probably the most difficult to get right (compatibility for 100's of func…
