FWIW - and I can't speak for anyone else, but on my 6S the B4 download was 1.48GB, the B5 is only 32.9MB.

For me, the biggest difference in battery usage is whether I have wifi enabled or not. Without wifi enabled, I can run all day on my overnight charge. With wifi enabled, the burn rate is often over 10% per hour.

As a heads up - if you remove Java 7, and try to run an app that requires Java, MacOS will prompt you if you want to install the needed runtime. The one it installs (on 10.8.1 at least) is Java 6 Update 33.
