No, it's an OS issue. The iPhone OS doesn't support printing. The Newton OS did from any application that took advantage of that core service. Print, fax, email, beam, all from the same drop down menu in every app, in every document. 15 years ag…

Multi-touch but no multitasking? There is no reason that a device such as this can't multitask. The lack of multitasking is the primary reason why my iPhone 3G really doesn't take my time away from my computer. Not when I need to get something do…

I thought this was about DVD vs BluRay, not a thread about streaming. Sure, I'd love to download true HD video with at least 5.1 Dolby Digital sound, but try doing that on 384 Kb/s so-called broadband. Amazon.co.uk can deliver a disc to me faster …

DVD certainly is becoming obsolete. But not BluRay. BluRay is available on many PC notebooks, but is sadly lacking in Apple hardware. My MacBook Pro 2008 has the same "SuperDrive" as my last notebook, a 2004 PowerBook G4. If you have 24/7 broadb…

My iPhone dropped a high percentage of calls when it was on AT&T. I would recommend unlocking your iPhones and using them with other carriers. The one I'm on now never drops calls.

Firefly. 14 episodes of some of the best TV ever made, with a fine ensemble cast and brilliant story telling. It won't take up all your time like BSG will. And after you can watch the movie. Shiny. Serenity is the pilot episode.

Anti-Nowhere League, The Undertones, The Avengers, Stiff Little Fingers, Sham 69, The Weirdos, Peter & The Test Tube Babies, Joy Division... been on a classic punk kick lately

If you're stinking rich you can offshore your income to a Cayman Islands account and you'll get away with not paying taxes, but you still have to file.

Motor vehicles are poor analogies for computers, but I'll play. Mopeds and scooters can dart and weave swiftly through traffic, much as a netbook user can weave around crowds carrying their laptop bags. At the cafe, a netbook user will be working…

Dell Inspiron with BluRay at $800+ http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=1155 Apple won't make BluRay available in $3000 laptops. And DVD movies look blurry on 1920x1200 when blown up to full screen.

Apparently, VLC can be used to view BluRay movie discs on a Mac. Toast 10 can burn BluRay discs on a Mac, all in OS X. So what do you mean by, "there's no software"? There's no official Apple software, but I'm not gonna let that stop me. And if …

Quote: I wouldn't be surprised if you never see blu-ray in a Mac. Its simply not necessary. Yeah, that's because Mac users like to watch fuzzy standard definition DVDs on their $2700 MacBook Pros with 1920 x 1200 resolution screens? DVDs look…

I prefer this look. The Dock looks like it's where it's supposed to be, at the bottom of the screen. The glossy, wide, black bezels make the Dock look like it's floating. It's an optical illusion but distracting nonetheless.

Well, you can always look elsewhere for films. There are good films made today, if not by Hollywood. I want this on BluRay to play on my MacBook Pro 17": http://www.lettherightoneinmovie.com/

I do like my 1920 x 1200 screen, yes

It looks very nice! Not enough to make me upgrade just yet, and it needs a few extra features before I'm enticed, like a Blu-Ray DVD player/burner and an extra FW port. With the matte screen option it's nearly perfect. It would be nice if the key…
