There are things you "notice" consciously, and thing your notice unconsciously. I suspect even people who look at font examples and don't see a difference, will still find using their device "easier", less tiring, etc.

I'm not worried about comparisons to medical grade devices, but I do want to see how it compares to a dedicated chest strap monitor, especially at near maximal effort (180-220 BPM or so). THAT is what I want to replace, for gym workouts and bike rid…

This so doesn't make sense. I can see a 5K Pro Display, in black, using DP1.3, alongside a refresh of the Mac Pro with DP 1.3, and selling for $2000. And then next year an iMac using that display tech. But to have the display introduced on the iMac?…

I wonder if everyone else gets a lower price for deployed shipments, and how much extra does Apple pay? Or do they lock it up early enough that there is no premium?

Seems to me a speed bumped version of the A7, in an enclosure with wall power and increased cooling, and a use case that demands all the performance you can throw at it, while also being a low volume product, would be ideal for ramping production of…

Why is the assumption always that ARM would have to replace Intel? Is there any reason that certain apps and parts of the OS couldn't be compiled for both architectures, and the motherboard contains both? Just like the GPU can be switched to low pow…

I see the first shipping product being $200, black, and ideal for FCP-X. Next stop, a Magic Trackpad that, with a gesture, becomes a number pad, and or a custom keypad, or a...

Isn't this about the best thing that could happen? The click-baiting 'Analyst' class, the short term investor and the general idiots with their heads in their posteriors get out of the stock, the price tanks and Apple buys much of it back at a disco…

I suspect that Steve's thought wasn't "Lets save money and screw these engineers", but rather "I've got the best people and you other losers can't have them!" Google and the rest may have thought of it as cost saving, but I suspect Apple thought of …

Jony Ive is NOT "...in charge of the company's mobile operating system." He is in charge of user facing look and feel, for iOS and OS X. Federighi is in charge of software engineering for both iOS and OS X. Under the previous org Forstall was in c…

Hmm, if you risked a production machine.... I am headed back to the states next week, hopefully there is a first patch out by then, and I can upgrade before I get back to nose to grindstone. As for Coherence, I gave up previously, because per…

I am still waiting for DX10+ support. The ONLY use I have for Parallels is running Revit until Autodesk does a Mac native version. And being a DX app, and only having DX9 support in Parallels, is really frustrating. I have serious doubts I will bo…
