OS X isn?t going to magically eat all of your RAM. Unless you have a lot of money to through at this, I?d get either 1*1GB or 2*512MB. You still double what you have now and can go to 2-3GB latter on when it?s cheaper and you really need it.

It will stay the same.

Well... I'm not that bright, had a lot of money to blow on a computer, and like pretty things. It was a match made in heaven.

The better question is why use OS X Sever insead of FreeBSD, OpenBSD, or even Darwin. They are all FREE aswell. Servers DON'T need a GUI! The Apple monioring software is nice, but unessiary.

I've got a Fuji FinePix 2600. It's nice(and under $200) even though the picture quality is poor in low light conditions. It come with rechargable batteries and a 16 meg card. The thing I like about it the most is being able to transfer images usin…

Don't dick around with firewire on ME. Get a good old IDE internal. A Plextor 40x12x40 would be a little over a $100. But you cand find a little slower Mitsumi or TEAC or like $60 or so.

Extended warantees are for suckers. I think if you read the fine print any upgrade you do yourself will void it.

Since she can get it to boot into Safe Mode, I assume that it hangs when you try to boot into normal mode. If the new drive is the master(wich it should be) unplug the old one and see if it will boot.

I know this I realy though having to press the butten on the PC was crapy. Working PC tech support it would have saved a lot of headaches for people who left a floppy in the drive then rebooted to get an "INVALID BOOT DIVICE" error message. That r…

Wow, a G4 would have cost me $1,599 back then. But, then again so would a iBook. You win some, you lose some. [ 11-10-2002: Message edited by: smithjoel ]

Yes, they suck. Slow, and NuBus instead of PCI, so no chance of Be or Linux. Never had any service problems with my 6200 though. Did have to take to have take it in for somthing under a recall i guess.

If you can’t figure you how to use a Mac you should be beaten over the head with a tack hammer. Translation: you should have no problem they are easy to use, just have fun and don’t think you will break anything my clicking the wrong button.

Where can you get a 21" monitory for $300??? Unless it's used and crap. For a nice one it would be around $400 New Egg I don't know though, if he picks it out, it probley wouldn't be what you'd pick.

More crappy software dosn't make somthing more functional. However, being able to choose from software A, B, and C. Is better than stuck with A.

AirPort, you dont' have the card sticking out of your computer. I see people sliding notebooks in and out of thier backpacks like that and it scars me.

PC vs Mac? Google fight! PC: 5,660,000 Mac: 3,500,000 PC wins. But in the real world it's up to you. You sound like you want a Mac, so get one as long as you can run all the software you want.
