I've been with Evernote since early on, I was like one of the first 100,000 users. I've tried in vain to replace it, over and over again, but for me the simple truth is that while some products do some things better than EN, it's usually at the cost…

The only answer that matters is in the last line of the article. Buy the one that runs the OS you like, because they are not interchangeable. Are there really people jumping back and forth between iOS and Android to gain tiny improvements in hardwar…

And, this is why I stopped buying BMW. Paying more for their cars? I was fine with that, I still like their drive better than almost anything. But the stupid little nickel-and-dime stuff like this, should be beneath them. My girlfriend has a damn…

Absolutely, if you aren't committed to dealing with problems and filing detailed, useful bug reports save yourself the trouble of installing the beta software. Especially the pre-public beta stuff. My experience has been very positive, but yours cou…

Working for me, on both beta.cloud and regular iCloud. Probably just a temporary glitch. U.S. based, developer. I got excited that it might come back up with new features, but it appears to be the same as before; probably went offline for developmen…

It's working fine in 10.10 for me too. I suspect Apple will keep it working, fixing any crash bugs, until Photos comes out early next year. They won't give loyal users a reason to jump ship to Adobe. Same thing with iPhoto.

My instinct is that people who are willing to pay the price for Lightroom have already made the switch. Aperture has been stagnant and subpar in most areas for a while now. People who don't want to pay that much are probably content with iPhoto or P…

Well, I hate to admit it, but I'm rather looking forward to this being good, even if it ends up being a touch pricey. I do like Apple's own office software, and for stuff at home I use it exclusively, but the unfortunate truth is that Office is s…

Hey Roger, never mind textbooks, how about an update to iWork. We're going into year 3 here.

I really, really love my Apple products. And I hope that if they build a TV, it's successful for them. But I hope they also incorporate the same ideas and tech into an upgraded AppleTV box, because I already have a beautiful, functional, huge te…

I'm one of those (possibly?) rare MobileMe users. I've used it since it was .MAC, I've always paid for it, i've never had any trouble with it (excepting the brief problems during the cutover to MobleMe) and I don't have any issue with the price. …

Not to say that that Ms Bartz is wrong, but seriously...pretty much everything Apple does, someone, somewhere, insists is going to be a huge failure. Those people are often leaders of other large tech or tech-focused companies. They also have a n…

...I'm increasingly embarrassed to be an American. The parasites in this country are amazing. You know what? My car overheats entirely too quickly in direct sunlight. Sometimes the leather seats and wrapped steering wheel get so hot that the car …

Well, this debate has been raging forever and while I'm sick of hearing about it, as a professional in the industry I'm interested to see how it plays out. I've held 3 different iPhone 4 devices in my hand and deliberately covered the "bad spot",…

This is a fine story I suppose, but the fact is that every manufacturer does it. Every time I call Verizon for a warranty replacement on a user phone, they ask me to check the moisture indicators and remind me that if it gets back to the service ce…

Pretty much every thing I cared about is in there: unified mailbox being a huge one for me. Folders, and Enterprise data protection (we've just had to start encrypting all Blackberry devices, so this is good news) Multi-tasking much less so (if I …
