It's worth noting that the "simple procedure" that can be used to resolve this (I have used it, and it worked for me) also results in the loss of all stored WiFi passwords which isn't ideal.

That is not a watch, that is a phone in a wriststrap. Ridiculous. You could achieve the same effect with a Galaxy Mini to within half an inch. If you can't wear it as a watch, and fit in under a shirt cuff, then it's not a watch.
