Well, I'll spell it out for ya. The G5 is 64bit -not 32 bit- and is aimed at high end machines. By high end I mean 'blow SGIs out of the water.' They will have sophisticated graphics subsystems designed, from the ground up, to do media calculatio…

ROTFLMAO, starfleet, that was some very convincing PS6 doctoring... I had to stifle my laughter as my roomate is sleeping... *wipes tears from eyes*

Actually, it's more of a slag at Sun, and Linux to a lesser extent. I like the picture of the guy 'crawling out the window.' Interesting metaphor...

The first posts by JYD were hilarious, that last was poignant, and echos my feelings exactly. I hate Britany Spears.

My first guess has to do with the free bay area Wi Lan network patched together by people like you and I. People with Cable/DSL and an 802.11b access point.

possibly, but not necessarily. Besides, he'd feel better about his purchase if it was the product he ordered. Earn your namesake, Installer. Pop it in, and check Apple System Profiler. [ 03-19-2002: Message edited by: stimuli ]

Stick it on eBay, set a reserve price, get the buyer to pay shipping. You'll get the best price, and beats putting it in the Vancouver Buy and Sell.

Groundbreaking features like.... what? To go the way of M$ Office with an app that is designed to be dead easy could be their biggest mistake.

You might consider an old piece of trash like win 95 or 98. These old versions will run much faster and use less ram than win XP or similar. I used win 95 on a powerbook 233mhz and it ran faster than my Dad's 133mhz P.O.S. PC

Errr.. linux has been a viable OS for my mac for like three years now...

If I were you, I'd go for it. $230, sweet. Unless he wants to get his ass sued, put in a bid at the last possible minute for like $235. Escrow is where there's a middleman who makes sure both sides get what they require for the deal to take place…

Foam machine... could be fun. You might try a fog/mist machine first, tho'

ZO: print to .pdf and send the pdf. It will have the necessary fonts embedded in it (?)

Try typing 'artwiz' into a search engine. He does really nice, unaliased, small fonts. You'll probably have to convert them to a mac-uable format. mints-mild (menus) and mints-strong (menu titles) are viewable in this screenshot : http://www.t…

Duck eggs rock! And ROTFL at the photo.

MP3 discmans are the way to go. 700-800MB of music, on media that can be read by macs, PCs and your discman. Just BEWARE: there are a lot of POS discmen out there; I have a couple of them. These pieces of **** have like 4 hour battery life, skip…

Reactionary thinking. IT guys fear change. Just try asking them to switch to linux.

Athlons are where it's at. I saw benchmarks, kernel compiles etc, not artificial benchmarks, where a dual 1.2 GHZ Thunderbird beat (albeit barely) a DUAL 1.7 GHZ PENTIUM 4 XEON in like 9 out of ten tests. The xeons have 1/2 MB cache, cost the earth…

It's about keeping up appearances, EmAn.
