Before there was Sherlock there was Konfabulator, by Arlo Rose, in early 2003. It had "widgets", the first time the name was used on Macs. Apple stole the name AND the same functionality of add-ons for small utilities like a calculator, weather etc.

I bought my first AAPL when the Apple Silicon was announced, so I'm excited about today!

The new M1 Macs are supposed to be able to run iOS apps, so the iPad version should be ok on those Macs. I'll see when I get my new MacBook Air - maybe tomorrow!

I'm dumbstruck that ALL of the M1 Macs have a maximum of 16 Gb of RAM - even the MacBook Pro! It appears that it is all in the Unified Memory of the M1 chip. How is this a good idea?

My needs and wants are probably fairly unique. I currently have 3 Macs, 2 as servers and the newest Mac Mini as my regular Mac. They are all connected to my 27" Dell monitor (LOVE all of those connectors) and a USB switch. It takes about 5 seconds t…

There's also no quad core option - at all. So maybe that will affect the server racks even more - we'll see.

I too looked carefully for mention of an upgraded Mac Pro. I'm writing this on a Mac Pro 1,1 - as in the very first model. I'm game for an upgrade, but Apple doesn't seem to want my money. This is a workhorse and a very flexible/extendable system. I…

Wow - what a disappointment this "shared" plan turned out to be! I have an iPhone 4S and a Verizon iPad 3. Last month I used 0.2% of the data on the iPhone since I'm almost always within range of wireless. So I'm thinking that when a shared …

This site is near where I live and I drive by it often. The grounds are beautiful and I hope Apple leaves every one of the towering, old trees.

We're always waiting for the next revision of any high tech gadget, but there's no telling exactly when it will come. I initially bought a 16 gig. wireless iPad and found out right away that it wouldn't satisfy me while I waited for the REAL iPad ca…

It's Apple's own fault there's so much wireless traffic in the room. Cut out all of the live blogger's feeds to the outside world and all will be well again. And that can be done by WEBCASTING the keynotes like they used to. We all want to know …

I don't understand why Apple would rent the Yerba Buena center for a special product debut when they could present at the premier Apple event of the year, MacWorld Expo! We Mac fanatics have been feeling really dissed by Apple since they backed o…
